Antivirus GT DescriptionType: Rogue AntiSpyware Programs
Antivirus GT is a fake anti-virus application that spreads via Trojans. Trojans are strong threats that can hide in the system without you knowning it is there in the first place. Trojans are often found in file sharing networks, fake video codecs, porn or other questionable sites. The reason Antivirus GT exists is because online scammers want to goad its victims into buying its bogus programs. The more rogue antivirus programs they can distribute, the more credit cards scammers can collect.
Once Antivirus GT is inside a system it will display fake scanners, pop-up warnings and security alerts that will trick a victim into believing that his/her system is infected with malware. Then the victim will be prompted to purchase the "full version" of Antivirus GT in order to remove all the detected malware. Do not fall for this scam; the "full version" of Antivirus GT does not exist and all security notifications displayed by this rogueware are fake.
Antivirus GT is among the members os a well-known family of fraudulent security programs, the FakeXPA family. Antivirus GT has numerous clones that include Antivirus 360, AntivirusBEST, Nortel Antivirus, Alpha Antivirus, Anti-virus Professional, Antivirus 2010, Cyber Security, MaCatte Antivirus 2009, Eco Antivirus, Antivir, Personal Security, Ghost Antivirus, Antivirus 7, Earth Antivirus, Antivirus 8, AVG Antivirus 2011, E-Set Antivirus 2011, XP Antivirus 2013.
