XP Security Plus 2013
XP Security Plus 2013 is part of a large batch of malware in the FakeRean, (also known as Braviax) family that are being released since October of 2012 in preparation for the coming new year. XP Security Plus 2013 is typically installed by a Trojan infection which detects the victim's operating system and then installs a variant of this family of malware that corresponds to the victim's operating system. XP Security Plus 2013 tries to scam the victim by giving the impression that the victim's computer is infected with malware and that XP Security Plus 2013 is actually a real security application that can be capable of removing this fictional malware. Unfortunately, XP Security Plus 2013 is not designed to detect or remove malware infections. Rather, XP Security Plus 2013 is part of a well known scam designed to prey on inexperienced computer users. To carry out its scam, XP Security Plus 2013 can cause several problems on the infected computer, including the following:
- XP Security Plus 2013 makes the infected computer display numerous bogus error messages and fake system alerts.
- XP Security Plus 2013 makes harmful changes to vital Windows settings and to the Windows Registry. These allow XP Security Plus 2013 to start up automatically, interfere with legitimate security programs, and display realistic system scans upon start-up.
- XP Security Plus 2013 has a negative impact on a computer's performance, causing it to run slowly and to become significantly more unstable.
A XP Security Plus 2013 infection is not easy to mistake for something else. As part of its attack, XP Security Plus 2013 will make it fairly obvious that XP Security Plus 2013 is installed on your computer. Rather, inexperienced computer users may have a hard time differentiating between XP Security Plus 2013 and a real security application. It is important to note that a legitimate security program will not block access to your software and files 'for your own protection' and that XP Security Plus 2013 will typically be installed on the victim's computer without permission from the computer user. Finally, uninstalling XP Security Plus 2013 (unlike a real security application) is nearly impossible using normal uninstall methods.
To remove XP Security Plus 2013 it is necessary to use a security application due to the need for removing both this fake security program and all malware associated with XP Security Plus 2013 or any one its many clones that include Antivirus 2008, Windows Antivirus 2008, Vista Antivirus 2008, Antivirus Pro 2009, AntiSpy Safeguard, ThinkPoint, Spyware Protection 2010, Internet Antivirus 2011, Palladium Pro, XP Anti-Virus 2011, CleanThis, PC Clean Pro, XP Home Security 2012, Windows Clear Problems, XP Security 2012, Antivirus PRO 2015.
