Smart Security is a bogus security application cloned from the notorious rogueware called Security Tool. Smart Security also known as SmartSecurity is also the name of a legitimate program from ESET Smart Security, so be careful not to confuse the two programs. Once inside a system, the malicious version of Smart Security will display fake pop-up messages, security alerts and system scans all indicating the computer is infected with different malware that can only be removed with the purchase of the "licensed" version of Smart Security. Do not believe any of the security reports displayed by Smart Security and have the rogueware removed from your system as soon as possible.
Smart Security is a member if the FakeVimes family and has, among its many clones, Virus Melt, Presto TuneUp, Fast Antivirus 2009, Extra Antivirus, Windows Security Suite, Smart Virus Eliminator, Packed.Generic.245, Volcano Security Suite, Windows Enterprise Suite, Enterprise Suite, Additional Guard, PC Live Guard, Live PC Care, Live Enterprise Suite, Security Antivirus, My Security Wall, CleanUp Antivirus, Windows Protection Suite, Windows Work Catalyst.
