PcSecureNet (a.k.a. Pc Secure Net) is a rogue security program that comes from the FakeSmoke family and uses deceiving actions to persuade computer users purchase the full PcSecureNet application. PcSecureNet, after installation, can drastically reduce system performance by using up resources while it performs malicious functions. Some of the malicious actions carried out by PcSecureNet include displaying popup alerts, using embedded code to populate the system with other malware and perform system scans that return fake virus results. PcSecureNet cannot detect and remove any type of computer parasite therefore, any scan results displayed by PcSecureNet are bogus.
