Win Scanner
Win Scanner aka WinScanner is a fake system optimization tool used to trick users out of their money. Coming from the same rogue family as Check Disk and Scan Disk, Win Scanner will use several scare tactics to convince a victim that his/her system is in danger. Win Scanner will simulate a fake scan which will detect several errors including a missing hard drive, RAM memory issues and very high CPU temperatures.
After providing a user with these false scan results, Win Scanner will also display fake pop-up warnings all prompting a user to purchase its full version to repair the detected errors. The full version of Win Scanner does not exist and no matter how much money you pay it will never defragment your PC. Do not be the next victim of this scam; never waste your money on a useless application like Win Scanner. If you encounter Win Scanner or any of its fake scanners and pop-up warnings, do not hesitate to get an up-to-date, legitimate and reliable rogueware removal tool to clean this threat off your PC.
