A cybercriminal group named Wizard Spyder, although being observed by numerous international law enforcement organizations, such as the FBI, Europol, UK National Crime Agency, and Interpol for many years, still executing its damaging attacks and causing a lot of problems to the government, agriculture, aerospace, and other crucial sectors, healthcare especially.
The core members of the Wizard Spider group have their base in Russia, St Petersburg mainly, but the authorities believe that they encompass more than 80 employees, which have no idea that they are working for a criminal organization.
The Wizard Spider group is believed to have taken part in cyber attacks by the Dyre Trojan, a banker Trojan that was used to collect money and login credentials from the victims' bank accounts in 2014 and 2015.
It also used the Trickbot Trojan, the Ryuk Ransomware, and the Conti Ransomware in 2018 to promote attacks on important organizations and ask for huge ransom amounts.
