The GamesMuze software is a collection of two browser extensions dubbed GamesMuze Search and GamesMuze Start that can be found on the Chrome Web Store. The GamesMuze software is offered by Goamuze.com, which is associated with several ad-supported products that include Best Price., mixMusic Search., and DownloadMuze. The GamesMuze line of browser extensions are part of a larger framework of extension designed to drive Web traffic to Searchalgo.com. and Eanswers.com. The GamesMuze browser extensions are designed to offer links to content on Cantstopplaying.com and allow the user to search via the Games.searchalgo.com portal. The site Cantstopplaying.com welcomes users to play Adobe Flash Games for free, which can be found on many platforms online. If you like flash games, then you may be interested in what Cantstopplaying.com has to offer. You are not obliged to install any extension under the GamesMuze before loading Cantstopplaying.com. However, the GamesMuze apps might change the default search provider in your Internet client and force you to load subdomains of Searchalgo.com and Eanswers.com. As mentioned above, GamesMuze is a package of extensions named GamesMuze Search and GamesMuze Start that can be found on the following pages:
- GamesMuze Search - Chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/gamesmuze-search/mgbdaibcnpbhieicggggmacifjfflien
- GamesMuze Start - Chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/gamesmuze-start/fimgpamnkpcmmgggkmaalpdiclnpbhge
Both extensions required the same privileges:
- Read and change all your data on the websites you visit.
- Change your search settings to games.searchalgo.com.
The apps under the GamesMuze brand are classified as clones of programs released by Medianetnow.com, Bettersearchtools.com, Ienjoyapps.com, Njoyapps.com, and Mixplugin.com that is a replica of Goamuze.com. Filters have detected a surge of new clones published on the Chrome Web Store in July 2017. The developers behind the sites above have been busy releasing new variants of their products. We have registered several new versions of GoPlay Search (a.k.a. justPlay Search) by Bettersearchtools.com, which includes:
- CantStopPlaying Search - Chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/cantstopplaying-search/pllkbojhcgodngoeagnfboekpmgficko
- playJunkie Search by Theappjunkies.com - Chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/playjunkie-search/kehdpclaakbmmnepliddcpakddlflknn
The extensions mentioned above require the following privileges:
- Read and change all your data on the websites you visit.
- Change your search settings to games.eanswers.com
The new clones are designed to reroute users to games.eanswers.com as did the gamesNet Search, gamesZone Search and iPlay Search extensions, which we covered earlier in 2017. The purpose of the extensive network of extensions is to siphon data like your Internet history, search terms, recently downloaded files and bookmarks into the hand of advertisers. There are more than two hundred thousand installations of the GamesMuze clones at the time of writing, and you may be able to imagine the amount of data that goes to Searchalgo.com and Eanswers.com. Advertisers use the information to provide targeted commercial content and increase their profits. PC users that may be interested in installing GamesMuze should be able to make an informed decision and consider the consequences to their privacy. GamesMuze and its countless variants are deemed as Potentially Unwanted Programs (PUPs) that may offer access to entertainment resources while your activity online is recorded and shared with marketers. You can use a credible anti-spyware tool to remove GamesMuze and block similar apps from intruding on your privacy.
