The DownloadMuze browser extension from Goamuze.com is promoted as a capable and interactive download manager replacement for Google Chrome users. The DownloadMuze browser extension can be found on Goamuze.com and has a page on the Chrome Web Store—Chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/downloadmuze/pdaddhinokbhjfclpdlalmipgifhkkhe. Web surfers can benefit from the DownloadMuze without paying a dime because the DownloadMuze browser extension is an ad-supported product. As such, you should expect to see promotional materials and recommended offers on your new tab page that is revamped by DownloadMuze. Unfortunately, you can't personalize the search service used by DownloadMuze that is embedded on your new tab page. If you are interested in using the DownloadMuze software by Goamuze.com keep in mind that it requires the following privileges:
- Read and change all your data on the websites you visit.
- Display notifications.
- Manage your downloads.
- Open downloaded files.
Additionally, your new tab page is substituted with a customized page that offers a clock, a brief overview of your recent downloads, an ad panel, quick links to social media services, and an integrated search by Yahoo. Installing the DownloadMuze extension may result in a browser redirect via the link goamuze.com/?lnk=tnk and users may be suggested to add the DownloadMuze Search Plus extension as a companion to DownloadMuze. You can read more about the DownloadMuze Search Plus extension on Goamuze.com and Chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/downloadmuze-search-plus/clggcbjlhhkejmaamaoagacamlbnhaho. The companion to DownloadMuze is an ad-supported program as well and requires the following privileges:
- Read and change all your data on the websites you visit.
- Change your search settings to apps.searchalgo.com.
- Manage your downloads.
- Open downloaded files.
The DownloadMuze Search Plus may change your default search provider to apps.searchalgo.com that is a sub-domain of Searchalgo.com. The Searchalgo.com portal is connected to a wide network of ad-supported applications and is not very popular among users. Searchalgo.com has been associated with cases of browser hijackings in the past and software developers working on the site have been busy releasing numerous clones of old browser extensions. You may find it interesting to take a peek at our articles on iMedia Start, BestMusic Search, and ArcadeNet Search. Cyber security analysts note that Goamuze.com is one of the latest additions to the Searchalgo.com network of sites that aim to drive Internet traffic to the search engine. The DownloadMuze and DownloadMuze Search Plus extensions are classified as Potentially Unwanted Programs (PUPs) that may perform unwanted browser redirects and display ads via notifications in the browser and banners on your new tab page.
