Cube Ransomware is a ransomware threat which was recently detected by malware experts. Cybercriminals are pumping out ransomware threats daily, and cybersecurity researchers are struggling to keep up and release decryption tools to the public despite working tirelessly. This is why there is yet to be a free decryption tool for Cube Ransomware though if you have become a victim, we would advise you to keep checking the Web daily.

Cube Ransomware is likely being propagated via the usual tools – mass spam email campaigns, infected pirated applications, fraudulent update requests. Once on your system, Cube Ransomware would begin wreaking havoc. It would detect the filetypes it targets and starts the encryption process immediately. When it is done locking down your data, you will realize that you can no longer access any of your files and they will all be unusable. Cube Ransomware alters the names of the affected files by putting its extension '.cube' at the end of the original file name, meaning that if you had called a file 'brown-cow.jpeg' after Cube Ransomware is done messing with it, it would be called 'brown-cow.jpeg.cube.' Then, as it usually goes, Cube Ransomware would take the next step and drop a ransom note on your system. The ransom note is called 'READ_ME.cube.' Ransomware authors often use all caps in the name of their ransom note to ensure the victim manages to see and recognize the note. Within the note, the attackers do not state what amount of money they would like in return for supposedly providing you with a decryption tool. They only give out two email addresses where you can get in touch with them and ask - mikrotik@tutamail.com or paydear@aol.com.

We would advise you against contacting cybercriminals because they would often lie and fail to hold up their end of the deal leaving you empty-handed and scammed out of your hard-earned money. What you could do, however, is install a legitimate anti-spyware suite and have it clean your PC from this nasty threat. After having done this, you may want to try and retrieve some of the data that Cube Ransomware has encrypted by using third-party data-recovery software.
