Threat Database Ransomware 360 Ransomware

360 Ransomware

The 360 Ransomware threat was discovered by the cybersecurity expert that goes by Boanbird. The threat is a threatening malware designed to lock users out of their own files. The goal of the attackers is to then extort their victims for money in exchange for the potential restoration of the encrypted data.

As part of its intrusive functionality, the 360 Ransomware will go over the files stored on the system and lock the ones that match its list of targeted file types. It is highly likely that the threat will avoid to encrypt files from essential system folder, as doing so could render the whole system unstable or cause critical system errors. Each encrypted file will have '.360' appended to its original name as a new file extension.

Ransom Note's Message

The threat's ransom note will be delivered to the system as a text file named '!_INFO.txt.' The file will be placed on the infected system's desktop. The 360 Ransomware note warns the victims that shutting down the device could lead to permanent damage to the encrypted data. It also states that users will have to pay the hackers if they want to decrypt their files safely.

To establish contact and receive additional instructions, users are instructed to message the two email addresses mentioned in the note - '360helper@mailfence.com' and '360support@cock.li.' As part of their message, users can attach up to two files to be decrypted for free. However, the chosen files should be less than 1MB in size and preferably be either pictures or text files.
