Computer users may be puzzled to find out that the Wind Browser is their default Internet client after installing a freeware setup with the 'Express' or 'Typical' option. The Wind Browser is made by DevUnion Inc., which is a Russian software development company. The Wind Browser is a custom build of the Chromium project and is deployed to users under the BSD License. The official homepage of the Wind Browser can be found at Windbrowser.net and users may notice that it is advertised to block ads and provide updates from social media services directly into its interface. However, the Wind Browser is supported by advertisers and might block the native ads on pages you browse to display marketing content from sponsors only. The Wind Browser is classified as a Potentially Unwanted Program (PUP) with adware capabilities that is very similar to Ghokswa Browser and WebDiscover Browser in functionality. The Wind Browser may resemble the design of the Yandex browser, but it is not based on the latest Chromium release, and users are not likely to benefit from the latest security measures.
Needless to say, surfing the Internet with the Wind Browser may expose users to cyber threats like Tordow and Dowfeld. Security experts add that the Wind Browser may display pop-ups and pop-under windows to welcome users to install badware such as SafetyNut and Search Donkey to earn pay-per-install revenue for its developers. The Wind Browser may not feature the latest Adobe Flash plug-in that is required to play videos on YouTube and Vimeo safely. Most users might not welcome the Wind Browser on their computer and prefer to use Internet browsers like Opera, Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox. However, the Wind Browser might edit your Windows Registry to prevent users from changing their preferred Internet browser manually. PC users should install a reliable anti-spyware tool to uninstall the Wind Browser and clean residual files that may be used by untrusted ad networks that are affiliated with DevUnion Inc.
