Webpushtech.com is a site dedicated to conducting a browser-based tactic and causing unwanted redirects to similarly untrustworthy destinations. Furthermore, users are unlikely to open the page intentionally. A more plausible reason for why they landed on it, is a redirect related to previously visited websites utilizing rogue advertising networks or as a result of having invasive PUPs (Potentially Unwanted Programs) installed on their computers or devices.
The tactic abused by Webpushtech.com involves trying to convince visitors that it is performing a CAPTCHA check. Of course, this is entirely fake. When users click 'Allow,' as per the instructions of the page, they will instead enable its push notifications. The messages shown by the scam website could be similar to:
'Click Allow if you are not a robot'
Furthermore, pressing the button will trigger a redirect to a dubious website promoting a PUP known as DriverMax. The advertisements generated by Webpushtech.com and delivered to users thanks to the browser permissions associated with the push notifications feature, should be regarded as equally suspicious. Typically, the advertisements are going to promote other hoax websites, phishing pages, fake giveaways, betting platforms, etc.
