Wcsoft.link Pop-Up

'Wcsoft.link' pop-ups is a deceitful website that targets Apple users predominantly. It is designed to run popular tactic scenarios geared towards luring the users into downloading and installing dubious PUPs (Potentially Unwanted Programs). Users do not land on the site voluntarily, and are almost always taken there as a result of forced redirects caused by intrusive advertisements or adware applications installed on their device. So far, the 'Wcsoft.link' pop-ups site has been observed as carrying out two different tactic versions.

In the first scenario, visitors are presented with fake claims that their devices have been infected with several unspecified malware threats that have already managed to cause damage to the device and its battery. To fix the issue users are urged to download the promoted PUP. Keep in mind that nothing mentioned by the 'Wcsoft.link' pop-ups site is true. Furthermore, no website can carry out a malware scan on its own. The second scenario is a bit milder, although untrue equally. In this case, visitors are told that need to download the promote VPN application to continue watching content online safely.

Sites such as 'Wcsoft.link' pop-ups are not that uncommon and while some do promote legitimate applications that also are available on the official application Store, most of them are distributing suspicious third-party applications. Installing such applications represents a significant security issue as they can have data harvesting capabilities or outright have malware threats lurking inside them.
