Wardoprize.com tries to lure unsuspecting users into its trap, by pretending to offer them lucrative prizes, such as a Samsung Galaxy. an iPhone, and MacBook Pro devices. However, before visitors can supposedly receive their earned rewards they are asked to complete a short survey. The survey is just a decoy allowing the site to obtain various private and potentially sensitive information, such as users' phone numbers, home addresses, emails, and even credit/debit card numbers. This behavior classifies Waroprize.com as a phishing website.
The hoax page pretends to be related to a reputable technological company such as Google. Its claims may include the classic scenario of claiming that the user has just reached a certain search milestone and is entitled to a reward, such as making the 10 millionth search. Of course, this is all entirely fake and such claims should never be taken seriously.
Apart from harvesting the user's information, Wardoprize.com also could try to convince them to subscribe to an entirely unneeded service. The fraudsters could exploit the obtained credentials to compromise additional accounts belonging to the victims, perform fraudulent transactions, or simply package the information and offer it for sale to third parties, which could include cybercriminal groups.
