TwinValley

TwinValley is a dubious application targeting Mac devices. Users are likely to have encountered the application after attempting to download items from unfamiliar or unproven sources. Indeed, like most PUPs (Potentially Unwanted Programs) who lack any useful features, TwinValley is being distributed via questionable methods, including fake installers. Another popular tactic involved in the spread of PUPs is software bundles, where the additional items are included as preselected options under the bundle's 'Advanced' or 'Custom' settings.

Once fully established on the user's Mac, TwinValley shows that its primary function is that of adware. The application will begin generating unwanted advertisements that could impact the user experience on the device significantly. More importantly, the advertisements associated with adware typically promote untrustworthy or even unsafe destinations or software products. Users could see advertisements for fake giveaways, phishing portals, shady online gambling/gaming platforms and more.

In addition, PUPs are notorious for collecting various amounts of data from the systems they are installed on. Users risk having their browsing activities monitored, packaged, and transmitted to a server controlled by the PUP's operators. The gathered information also may include numerous device details or even sensitive banking, payment and account details extracted from browsers' autofill data.
