EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecard
EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecards are assessment reports for different malware threats which have been collected and analyzed by our research team. EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecards evaluate and rank threats using several metrics including real-world and potential risk factors, trends, frequency, prevalence, and persistence. EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecards are updated regularly based on our research data and metrics and are useful for a wide range of computer users, from end users seeking solutions to remove malware from their systems to security experts analyzing threats.
EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecards display a variety of useful information, including:
Ranking: The ranking of a particular threat in EnigmaSoft’s Threat Database.
Severity Level: The determined severity level of an object, represented numerically, based on our risk modeling process and research, as explained in our Threat Assessment Criteria.

TotalResults is an intrusive adware application targeting Mac users. When installed, the application shows that its primary focus is the delivery of annoying and unwanted advertisements. In the vast majority of cases, users do not find, download, and install such programs willingly. Instead, the creators of adware and browser hijackers rely heavily on questionable distribution methods to spread their applications. TotalResults is not an exception, and infosec researchers have found the application being placed inside fake Adobe Flash Player installers. This questionable behavior classified TotalResults as a PUP (Potentially Unwanted Program), as well. It also should be noted that the application is part of the AdLoad adware family.
There could be many unwanted consequences of keeping a PUP on your Mac. First, the advertisements generated by TotalResults could cause significant disruptions to the normal activities on the device. However, more importantly, the advertisements could be promoting untrustworthy websites or software products. It is not uncommon for users to be presented with advertisements for fake giveaways, pages running various online tactics or additional PUPs posing as legitimate applications.
At the same time, PUPs also are infamous for having data-tracking capabilities. While active on the device, these applications could be silently collecting browsing-related information, device details, or even sensitive banking details and account credentials extracted from users' browsers. The collected data could be packaged and then transmitted to the operators of the specific PUP.
