SysTweak

SysTweak is a Mac-tailored app presumably designed to detect and remove any potentially malicious incoming threat. Alas, whether or not SysTweak is capable of keeping malware at bay, is still open to interpretation. However, it often arrives housed in software bundles – a technique usually reserved for Potentially Unwanted Programs (PUPs).

Like any other dubious PC optimization tools, SysTweak will run a full system scan to analyze your system, only to flood your screen with hundreds of threats residing within your MacOS. However, it won't quarantine or delete a single threat unless you subscribe to its premium features beforehand. Thus, potential customers have no way of seeing SysTweak in action in advance.

If the list of false positives is long enough, it may lure some Mac users into buying the software. If you do buy SysTweak, though, your list of benefits might not be that long. More often than not, most of the threats outlined in a SysTweak scan will have next to nothing to do with reality, and a parallel checkup with a reputable anti-malware product will most probably confirm that for you.

Apart from a slew nonexistent threats, you may get many other surprises with SysTweak and other apps of the sort. To date, there have been many complaints among Mac users against SysTweak’s support team ranging from elusive refunds to remote access requests. Speaking of remote access, we can’t deny its practical usage with most AV solutions. Yet, most of the reliable anti-malware program vendors out there could and should let you know about that particular feature before you've decided to install the said product. Moreover, those vendors would not bundle their software in the first place.

Even though most PUPs pose low-level threats to their hosts, they can be notoriously hard to crack when it comes to their removal. You may follow the uninstall steps one by one and still fail to get rid of tools like SysTweak. To guarantee proper removal, you’d be better off using a robust anti-malware program instead.
