SearchQuest is a dubious Web browser extension that promises to improve the users' experience by providing them with quick access to a translation tool, as well as suggesting Wikipedia articles and Bing results based on the text the user highlights. Some of these features may seem useful at first, but there are several other things that may make SearchQuest a not-so-desireable and reliable Web browser extension.
First of all, SearchQuest is ad-supported which means that while the software is free to use, by using it you agree to have advertisements and other marketing content injected in your Web browser window. The marketing content SearchQuest suggests may often include coupon codes, promotional offers, affiliate products & services, as well as offers to download Potentially Unwanted Programs or another dubious software. Low-quality websites may often use adware like SearchQuest for an advertising platform, so we advise you not to trust any of the ads SearchQuest may inject in your Web browser.
The SearchQuest extension also may collect information about your browsing habits and use it to improve the relevance of its advertising content. This is a major privacy concern and is one of the top reasons why SearchQuest should be deleted from your machine as soon as possible. If you want to be 100% certain that SearchQuest has been dealt with properly, you should install and run a reputable and up-to-date anti-malware scanner.
