is a fake search engine that is most likely being promoted via browser hijacker applications or other PUPs (Potentially Unwanted Programs). It seems that the main targets are Mac users who report seeing the unfamiliar address when trying to search things through their browser.

Browser hijackers are deceptive applications capable of overtaking certain browser settings such as the homepage, new tab page and the default search engine. All three or a combination of them could be set to open the sponsored page. Afterward, whenever the users simply open the affected browser, start a new tab, or initiate a search via the URL tab, they would immediately be taken to the promoted address.

Fake engines lack the ability to generate any results. In most cases, they redirect to a legitimate engine, such as Yahoo, Google or Bing. However, some also may trigger redirect chains that lead to dubious engines. While these may be capable of delivering results, they are of low quality, may not meet the specific search terms and could include numerous ad links.
