SearchFin is an adware that may shows pop-up advertisements and sponsored links on well-known online shopping and social networking websites that are visited by web users. SearchFin is generated by cybercriminals with the intention to possibly make a profit from increased traffic and the pay-per-click technique. SearchFin may generate web traffic and grab sales leads for other tricky advertisement websites. SearchFin may encompass various functionalities enabling it to take over the affected web browser and restrict PC users from normal web browsing. SearchFin is an add-on for Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome that may usually be inserted when the web user installs other shareware and freeware applications, such as PDF creators, download-managers or video recording/streaming, that might had packed into their installation SearchFin. When the PC user installs these free applications, he may also install SearchFin.
