This particular threat stands out from other variants of its family due to its use of the '.sapp' file extension to mark encrypted files. In addition, cybercriminals have been known to deploy other threatening payloads, such as RedLine and Vidar stealers, alongside STOP/Djvu Ransomware variants.
Once a device has been infected, victims will be presented with a ransom note in the form of a text file named '_readme.txt,' containing instructions on how they can pay the ransom and regain access to their data.

In addition to the ransom payment, victims are allowed to send one encrypted file to the attackers for verification, with the hackers promising to return it to its original state. However, paying the ransom does not guarantee the successful decryption of files and should be done only after careful consideration.
