Rewardusacenter.com is a dubious site that tries to take advantage of its visitors by promising them expensive rewards. For example, when examining the site, infosec researchers were presented with offers to win either a Playstation 4 or an Xbox One via a prepaid visa card. Apparently, the only requirement is for users to enter their email addresses.
Of course, this is a typical step in most phishing tactics and Rewardusacenter.com is not that different. Upon entering their email, users will trigger a forced redirect leading them to an equally untrustworthy page. There, users will encounter a variation of the 'Google Membership Rewards' scam. It is another phishing scheme that tries to extract information from unsuspecting visitors.
Both pages also ask users to enable their push notifications. This legitimate browser feature is often exploited as a way for sites to deliver unwanted and intrusive advertisements. The generated advertisements rarely promote legitimate sites or products. On the contrary, most of them lead to additional scam pages, fake giveaways or shady adult-oriented platforms.
