Reminderapp.store Pop-Ups

The Reminderapp.store and its associated pop-ups are part of a deceptive scheme that aims to trick Apple users into installing a promoted application. The con website relies heavily on fake scare alerts and equally false warnings about privacy issues. Users typically land on questionable sites, such as Reminderapp.store after visiting pages using rogue advertising networks or as a result of having PUPs (Potentially Unwanted Programs) present on their devices.

The pop-ups generated by Reminderapp.store may claim that the user's unspecified Apple device is infected with tens upon tens of viruses (21 in most cases). These supposed threats infiltrated the device after the user supposedly visited an adult-related website. The misleading pop-ups will urge users to follow the shown instructions to get rid of the non-existing threats. Keep in mind that these fake alerts could try to pass as Apple security notifications.

Other scenarios include claims that unauthorized third parties may be spying or watching the user or that the data on the device may have already been compromised. Users also may be presented with messages encouraging them to watch a video in safe mode. All of the deceptive actions taken by Reminderapp.store are geared toward tricking users into installing an application named Device Protector.
