The ProWebi browser extension is an alternative to Black Lister and AdBlockerr that is supposed to protect users from pop-ups loaded with links to harmful sites. The ProWebi extension may be seen in free software packages and could be accompanied by Inbox Toolbar. Security experts warn users not to trust the ProWebi extension because it is adware that is designed to block the native ads on websites that infected users visit and present them with promotions from sponsors. Additionally, the ProWebi extension is not digitally signed and may be perceived as a security risk. The code vulnerabilities in the ProWebi adware could be exploited by third parties to gain remote access to your PC by spoofing the ProWebi's Internet connection. The ProWebi adware-powered extension may appear to be attached to your Internet browser, but users may be obstructed in their efforts to remove it due to a modification of their Windows Registry. Additionally, the ProWebi adware may affect Google Chrome, Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox to maximize its efficiency. Security experts remind users that the ads brought by ProWebi may feature corrupted content, and they could be welcomed to install rogue security applications like Advanced Security Tool 2010 and Intelinet Smart Security. Also, the ProWebi adware may use session cookies and record your recently entered search terms on to show targeted promotions on your browser surface. The ProWebi adware may display banners, discounts, coupons and ad-boxes on all pages you visit.
