BlackLister is a potentially unwanted browser extension that is produced by Revizer Technologies Ltd. Although BlackLister may declare to restrict children from entering adult content incorporating websites which may appear genuine, in truth, it is categorized as adware or a potentially unwanted program (PUP). BlackLister may use the tricky application marketing technique and propagate and install itself onto the PC as an extra program packaged with other free tools. BlackLister may use surreptitious installation of itself as an optional tool together with selected software to install on the computer user's Web browser without his consent. After installation on Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome, BlackLister may control the computer user's Internet surfing habits by recording a variety of software and hardware information involving entered search requests, websites visited, geolocation, IP/MAC addresses and other similar data. BlackLister may create and show a variety of types of non-stop commercial ads such as pop-up, banner, sponsored link and shopping discount coupon advertisements.
