Promosurvey.org is an untrustworthy website that has been observed running a phishing tactic. Visitors will be presented with a false scenario that will try to lure them into divulging various private or sensitive information, such as phone numbers, email addresses, names, addresses and possibly other details.
The dubious page claims that visitors have been selected to take part in a promotional contest and will have the chance to win a prize from the supposed sponsors. However, to receive the promised rewards, users are instructed to complete a survey with personal questions. The fraudsters attempt to create a sense of urgency by stating that users have just a couple of minutes or even less to complete the survey.
Phishing tactics, such as the one found on Promosurvey.org also may take users to a specially crafted website that will ask for even more information. The data provided to the site will be compromised and become available to con artists. Alternatively, visitors could be told that they must pay various, bogus administration, shipping, or other fees before they could receive the non-existent rewards.
In general, it is strongly recommended to never trust the messages presented by random websites encountered while browsing the Internet.
