EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecard
EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecards are assessment reports for different malware threats which have been collected and analyzed by our research team. EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecards evaluate and rank threats using several metrics including real-world and potential risk factors, trends, frequency, prevalence, and persistence. EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecards are updated regularly based on our research data and metrics and are useful for a wide range of computer users, from end users seeking solutions to remove malware from their systems to security experts analyzing threats.
EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecards display a variety of useful information, including:
Ranking: The ranking of a particular threat in EnigmaSoft’s Threat Database.
Severity Level: The determined severity level of an object, represented numerically, based on our risk modeling process and research, as explained in our Threat Assessment Criteria.
Infected Computers: The number of confirmed and suspected cases of a particular threat detected on infected computers as reported by SpyHunter.

The term virus is often used to refer to all kinds of malware infections, 'virus' being a catch-all term that is often applied to rootkits, Trojans, and worms. However, this is not technically correct. A virus is a malware infection designed to corrupt files on the victim's computer, injecting a bit of malicious code into the file's code so that it will execute it whenever the file is opened (much like a biological virus injects its DNA into its host's cells and then uses those cells own mechanisms to reproduce). If your anti-virus program detects a Patchload.o infection, this means that certain files on your system have been corrupted (or patched) by a virus infection. Often, a computer user may need to recover the corrupted files. According to ESG security researchers, recovering a file with a Patchload.o infection can be done with the use of a reliable anti-malware application equipped with the appropriate anti-virus technology.

How Patchload.o Attacks Your Computer System
Patchload.o will usually enter your computer system aided by another malware infection or through a malicious email message containing a corrupted attachment. Patchload.o modifies a file with the EXE extension or an executable file by adding a malicious code to the corrupted file's last section. Then, when the executable file is opened, Patchload.o will attempt to load malicious files onto the victim's computer system, as well as an attempt to execute other files that may be present on the victim's computer. Patchload.o is linked to a malicious file named c_06860.nls, which will typically be present on the victim's system folder. The system folder's name varies according to the version of Windows that your computer has installed. Each time Patchload.o is executed, Patchload.o attempts to copy the above-mentioned file, allowing Patchload.o to take over the victim's computer system.
Symptoms of Patchload.o Infection
Patchload.o in itself does not have any specifically identifiable symptoms. However, a computer system containing corrupted files will quickly show the effects of the strain these kinds of infections place on the system. Some symptoms of these kinds of infections include files or directories that appear suddenly and are not readily-removable, a general slowing down of your computer system and general instability and frequent crashes. To detect Patchload.o, it is recommended that computer users utilize a reliable anti-virus program that is fully updated.
