'Paper' Browser Extension

The 'Paper' browser extension is a dubious application that tries to convince users that installing it will improve their browsing experience. Unfortunately, soon afterward users will realize that the 'Paper' browser extension is little more than another adware. These intrusive applications are designed to generate profits for their operators via the delivery of numerous unwanted advertisements to users' devices.

The sheer number and frequency at which the advertisements appear could disrupt the normal activities carried out on the affected devices. More importantly, users should be careful when dealing with advertisements associated with unproven or questionable sources. The advertisements are likely to promote dubious destinations that may include technical support or phishing tactics, fake giveaways, shady adult-oriented pages, and other similarly untrustworthy sites. Clicking on the presented advertisements also may result in forced redirects to potentially unsafe sites.

Adware applications also are often observed to collect various data from the systems they are installed on. Users may have their browsing activities spied upon, device details collected and transmitted, and even sensitive account credentials or banking details extracted from browsers' autofill data. Adware, browser hijackers, and PUPs (Potentially Unwanted Programs) often rely on persistence techniques that ensure their prolonged presence and make their manual removal much more difficult.
