NetSearchPanel is an intrusive adware application targeting Mac users. Like most applications of this type, NetSearchPanel is likely to be spread via questionable distribution tactics, such as software bundles or even fake installers/updates pretending to be legitimate programs. As a result, many users fail to notice that a PUP (Potentially Unwanted Program) has been delivered to their computers or devices. As for NetSearchPanel, infosec researchers have confirmed that it is another addition to the prolific AdLoad adware family.

Having an application such as NetSearchPanel active on your Mac could lead to several, unwanted consequences. First, users could start seeing far more advertisements that could be delivered to their devices as banners, notifications, pop-ups and more. It is strongly recommended to approach any advertising materials generated by an unfamiliar or dubious source with caution. After all, there is a high chance that the shown advertisements will be promoting untrustworthy pages or software products. Users may see advertisements for fake giveaways, phishing schemes, shady adult platforms or additional PUPs presented as seemingly legitimate applications.
