MacFly Pro

The MacFly Pro is an application that is supposed to provide Mac users with some powerful features capable of boosting the system's performance and streamlining and improving its maintenance. Among its capabilities are a shredder and various scans - for duplicate files, large files, junk files, installed applications, etc. The problem is that users will not be able to address the supposed issues found by MacFly Pro unless they pay for a license needed to activate the full version.

It is strongly recommended not to pay any amount of money for MacFly Pro or any similar product, as there are countless different applications that offer virtually the same functionality. Furthermore, it is entirely possible that some of the features they boast as having could actually be performed by default tools already found in the Mac system.

In many cases, users do not install applications such as MacFly Pro intentionally. Various deceptive marketing and distribution tricks are instead employed, with one of the most widespread being called 'bundling' - the installation of the application is hidden inside the install process of another more popular program. This is the reason that infosec researchers classify this type of application as PUPs (Potentially Unwanted Programs).
