Threat Database Ransomware Jjtt Ransomware

Jjtt Ransomware

The infamous STOP/Djvu Ransomware family continues to expand, with more variants being unleashed by cybercriminals. The Jjtt malware threat is exactly such a variant of the STOP/Djvu Ransomware. Although it is not equipped with any meaningful improvements, the Jjtt Ransomware is capable of locking users from their own files completely. It achieves its disruptive goals by utilizing an encryption routine with a strong cryptographic algorithm.

All affected victims will notice that their documents, PDFs, archives, databases, and more, have become inaccessible. Furthermore, all locked files will now carry the '.jjtt' file extensions as part of their names. When the threat has finished encrypting all targeted file types, it will create a ransom note with instructions from the attackers. The message will be dropped on the breached device as a text file named '_readme.txt.'

Ransom Note's Details

According to the message, the hackers responsible for spreading the threat demand to be paid exactly $980. In exchange for the money, they promise to provide affected users with a decryption tool and key that will supposedly restore all of the locked data. The note mentions that if victims establish contact during the first 72 hours of the Jjtt infections, they will have to pay just 50% of the initial ransom amount.

The attackers provide two options for communication. The first is through their primary email address at 'support@sysmail.ch,' while 'helprestoremanager@airmail.cc' acts as an alternative. Victims are instructed that they can pick one encrypted file and attach it to their messages. The hackers will then supposedly unlock and return it for free.
