GlobalQueue

GlobalQueue is an intrusive application that aims to sneak its way onto users' Mac devices. Like so many other PUPs (Potentially Unwanted Programs), GlobalQueue also is designed to monetize its presence on the Mac via underhanded and disruptive methods. More specifically, the application has been classified as adware, meaning that it is created to deliver unwanted advertisements to users.

The generated advertisements are unlikely to be for legitimate products or sites. Instead, the advertisements associated with such dubious sources are commonly used to promote questionable destinations (hoax websites, phishing schemes, suspicious adult-oriented platforms, etc.) or additional PUPs presented as legitimate applications. Users should keep in mind that even if the promoted applications are real, the goal of the fraudsters is most likely to earn illegitimate commission fees.

The risks posed by having PUPs installed on your computers and devices do not stop there. The vast majority of such applications are capable of data collection. They may continuously monitor the browsing activities carried out on the device and transmit all acquired data to their operators. Some PUPs may even harvest various device details or even sensitive credentials or banking information from users' Web browsers.
