EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecard
EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecards are assessment reports for different malware threats which have been collected and analyzed by our research team. EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecards evaluate and rank threats using several metrics including real-world and potential risk factors, trends, frequency, prevalence, and persistence. EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecards are updated regularly based on our research data and metrics and are useful for a wide range of computer users, from end users seeking solutions to remove malware from their systems to security experts analyzing threats.
EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecards display a variety of useful information, including:
Ranking: The ranking of a particular threat in EnigmaSoft’s Threat Database.
Severity Level: The determined severity level of an object, represented numerically, based on our risk modeling process and research, as explained in our Threat Assessment Criteria.

Cybersecurity researchers have uncovered another intrusive app belonging to the AdLoad adware family. This time the app targeting Mac users is named DockModule and its capabilities match those of the other AdLoad members. While present on the Mac, the app will be responsible for the delivery and display of various dubious advertisements that could severely affect the user experience.
More importantly, advertisements related to these types of untrustworthy sources could be promoting risky destinations. It is not uncommon for users to be presented with ads for shady online gaming or gambling platforms, suspicious adult-oriented sites, fake giveaways, phishing portals, and more. Keep in mind that the particular adware may not activate its full range of abilities if certain conditions are not met.
Still, it is not recommended to keep DockModule or any other app falling into the PUP (Potentially Unwanted Program) category on your Mac. These software products are infamous for spying on the browsing activities carried out on the device. In addition, they may also harvest specific device details (IP address, device type, OS type, browser type, etc) and exfiltrate them as well. Sometimes even the browser's autofill data may not be entirely safe. Certain PUPs have the ability to extract sensitive information from it such as account credentials or payment details.
