Analyzer File

The Analyzer File is a browser hijacker application that targets Apple users. Once installed, it takes over certain browser settings. Browser hijacker applications do not usually get installed by the users willingly. Instead, they propagate through the use of deceptive marketing tactics such as bundling, which sees the installation process of the browser hijacker being inserted as a component from the installation of a more popular freeware application.

Using a browser that has been affected by the Analyzer File leads to a significantly diminished browsing experience as users will often be interrupted by forced-redirects and intrusive advertisements. Furthermore, the homepage, new page tab, and the default search engine will be substituted with a promoted address, that in most cases, is a fake search engine.

Keeping PUPs (Potentially Unwanted Programs) such as the Analyzer File on your system may not be nearly as threatening as having a malware threat, but it still represents a security risk. This application is known to possess at least a certain degree of data harvesting capabilities. The more benign cases limit themselves to obtaining the browsing and search history, clicked URLs, IP address, etc. However, some browser hijackers also can attempt to access sensitive private information that has been saved in the browser, such as credit card or banking details.
