Wscntfy.exe is the Windows Security Center Notify Application which was introduced in Windows XP Service Pack 2. Wscntfy.exe indicates the current security status, such as the status of Windows updates, virus protection, and the firewall. This is a legitimate process however criminals often use this filename to disguise malware. The file is located in the C:\Windows\system32\wscntfy.exe folder. Should you find Wscntfy.exe located anywhere else, it is advisable to scan your PC for viruses, Trojans, worms, spyware or any other malware.
