Worldwidedefence.com is a dubious website that appears to exist solely to propagate various online tactics. What users encounter on the page could be determined by factors, such as their IP addresses and geolocation. For example, some may be presented with misleading messages trying to convince them to click the displayed 'Allow' button. This particular scheme takes advantage of the legitimate push notifications browser feature to deliver unwanted and intrusive advertisements to users. Keep in mind that the shown advertisements are unlikely to promote websites and products. Instead, users could see advertisements for fake giveaways, invasive PUPs (Potentially Unwanted Programs) presented as seemingly useful applications, suspicious online gaming/betting platforms and more.
Worldwidedefence.com also has been observed running a variant of the 'Your PC is infected with 5 viruses!' scam. In this case, users will see numerous pop-ups containing different security alerts and warnings. One of the pop-ups may even claim that a threat scan conducted by the page has found numerous malware on the user's device. The scan results and all of the site's other claims should be regarded as completely fake, even though Worldwidedefence.com tries to pass them as coming from the security vendor McAfee. The actual McAfee company has no connection to the different scam websites abusing its name, logo and branding.
