WebSearchStreams

WebSearchStreams is a deceptive application whose only purpose is to take over users' Web browsers to promote and drive as much artificial traffic towards a sponsored address. These applications are classified as browser hijackers. Furthermore, due to their reliance on underhanded tactics in their distribution, they also fall into the category of PUPs (Potentially Unwanted Programs).

WebSearchStreams promotes its own address at websearchstreams.com. It operates as a fake search engine that delivered results from Yahoo, a legitimate engine. However, some users may instead be shown results generated by a dubious engine called searchlee.com. In this case,  the delivered results cannot be trusted as they may not fit the search terms or could be riddled with sponsored ad links. 

When dealing with PUPs and debating whether you should remove them from your computer or device, keep in mind that these applications are commonly known to possess data-harvesting abilities. While installed on the system, they may be tracking your browsing activities while also transmitting various device details to a remote server.
