Webpass Ads is an adware application that shows pop-up advertisements and sponsored links on Facebook, Bing, Google Search and other websites that are visited by web users. Webpass Ads is generated by cybercriminals with the intention to make a profit from increased traffic and the pay-per-click technique. Webpass Ads generates web traffic and grabs sales leads for other tricky advertisement websites. Webpass Ads encompasses rootkit functionalities enabling it to take over the attacked Internet browser and restricting victimized PC users from normal web browsing. Webpass Ads is an add-on for Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome that is usually inserted when the web user installs other free applications, such as PDF creators, download-managers or video recording/streaming, that had packed into their installation Webpass Ads. When the PC user installs these free applications, he/she will also install Webpass Ads. When installed on the targeted computer, Webpass ads will show advertising banners and coupons available for each website whenever the Internet user will visit Amazon, Youtube, Expedia or any other similar websites. When doing an online search on Google, Webpass Ads will show boxes, which contain a variety of sponsored links and advertisements, based on the target computer user's search terms. Webpass Ads will display the message on Google.
