Why Virus Clear 2011 is Extremely Suspicious

Virus Clear 2011 has ten different domains supporting Virus Clear 2011 with payment sites. In other words, there are ten separate websites that claim to sell Virus Clear 2011. Each one uses slightly different graphics and a slightly different color scheme, but the text content of all of the sites is identical, word for word. These sites don't offer a download of Virus Clear 2011 without a payment, and they include what are obviously fake testimonial statements, and strangely-worded "support" pages that suggest a poor grasp of English. The tab on each of these sites for contacting customer support includes a form to email with questions about your purchase, and the form has a required-information blank for your full credit card number! Obviously, something strange is going on with all of these sites that claim to support Virus Clear 2011 as anti-virus software.

So far, the payment sites for Virus Clear 2011 include:

  • avfreedom.net
  • verygoodav.net
  • safetyav.com
  • safetyshopav.com
  • freedom-av.com

  • betterav.com

Please note that all of these sites should be considered malicious, and you should not visit them for any reason. Each one of them seems to indicate that it is the one and only official site for Virus Clear 2011. Also, each one of them has a separate IP address and is hosted on a separate server. There is a variety of registration information provided for these sites, but ultimately, they all trace back to the same name and address, which is:

Sergey Nevsky
24ruhost
Gorki St. 73 Apt. 44
Cherepovets, Vologda 162614
Russia

So, all of the Virus Clear 2011 websites trace back to 24ruhost, in Russia! When it comes to fake anti-virus programs, the vast majority of scams originate in Russia. Furthermore, 24ruhost is notorious – it is a known host of existing, identified rogue anti-virus application scams.
