Umxs.xyz

Umxs.xyz is yet another dishonest website that is being put on the Internet. It joins the ranks of the countless other pages that have already been created with the same purpose and nearly identical behavior - to show misleading alerts or warning messages to their visitors to trick them into subscribing to that site's push notification services. Besides its address, Umxs.xyz has little to differentiate itself. The false scenario it presents to its visitors includes a video window that is buffering currently, accompanied by a variation of the following message:

'Press 'Allow' to watch the video'

Users who let their curiosity get the better of them will find themselves subjected to an intrusive advertising campaign. The site will abuse the browser permissions it received from the unsuspecting users and start to deliver dubious advertisements to the device, even if the browser itself has been closed completely. 

Approach any of the generated advertising materials with extreme caution, and avoid clicking on them unnecessarily. Otherwise, users risk being redirected to questionable third-party websites. Phishing pages, domains offering various barely-functional PUPs (Potentially Unwanted Programs), or other online tactics could be among the destinations. 

To stop Umxs.xyz from disrupting your browsing with incessant advertisements, users will need to revoke all of the permissions that they gave to the hoax website inadvertently. Usually, this is a straightforward process; just open 'Settings' and navigate to the 'Permissions' or 'Notifications' menu depending on your specific browser. Then, find Umxs.xyz and revoke everything associated with it.
