Ubersearch.co is the address of a dubious search engine that is being promoted via a browser hijacker application. This is a common scheme that relies on users not paying too much attention when installing freeware products or visiting questionable pages. Indeed, browser hijackers also fall into the PUP (Potentially Unwanted Programs) category, due to the deceptive methods they employ in their distribution. 

Usually, the first sign of the browser hijacker application that the user will notice is the different homepage assigned to the Web browser. The new tab page and the default search engine also could be set to open the promoted hoax engine, Ubersearch.co in this case. Most search engines delivered through such underhanded tactics are incapable of producing any results, and, instead, redirect the search queries of the users to a legitimate engine. Even if the dubious engine can generate search results on its own, it will be unreliable and potentially filled with sponsored ad links. 

While installed on the system, browser hijackers and the associated search engine could try to collect data related to the user's browsing habits. The collected information is then packaged and transmitted to a remote server. The application's operators could then try to sell the data to interested third parties that might include cybercriminals.
