The Ubersear.ch address belongs to a dubious search engine. Although Ubersear.ch is capable of producing results on its own, users risk being shown low-quality results that could be filled with sponsored advertisements. Naturally, search engines of this type are extremely unlikely to attract users via normal means. That is why they are typically promoted via intrusive applications known as browser hijackers, who forcefully add the address to the user's Web browsers, in most cases, by modifying the homepage, new tab page and default search engine settings.
However, the application promoting Ubersear.ch is a bit different. It is equipped with a far more expansive set of features that justify its classification as malware. Known as 'Ads Blocker,' the threat targets Android devices specifically. Once installed, it can inject deceptive events into the device's calendar, promoting potentially harmful sites or software products. The application also can create fake notifications that visually mimic those of legitimate applications.
As we said earlier, Ads Blocker also will cause unwanted redirects to the Ubersear.ch site. It does so by placing a new window on top of the browser. Users will see two URL bars with the bottom one showing the default search engine they have chosen. The top window, where the redirect occurs, will instead lead to the promoted page.
