Trojan.JS.Agent.ELA is a hazardous Trojan infection and malicious JavaScript file that tries to find vulnerabilities and exploits them in an attempt to download and install additional malware threats. Trojan.JS.Agent.ELA is distributed via social engineering frauds on social networking websites or via JS injects in genuine websites which have been earlier affected by some malware threats. Firstly, Trojan.JS.Agent.ELA figures out which platform is installed on the affected Internet browser - Windows, Linux or Mac. After that, Trojan.JS.Agent.ELA affirms the web browser type and version to see if it is Internet Explorer, Safari, Chrome, Gecko (Mozilla Firefox) or Opera. Next, Trojan.JS.Agent.ELA figures out what plug-ins are installed on the targeted Internet browser. These plugins and their versions will be used in selecting the exploits that will be used to download additional malware infections. Exploits are customized for specific plugin versions in order to be compatible to the compromised PC system.

Trojan.JS.Agent.ELA shows the following message on the infected machine: "Please wait page is loading..." to divert the computer user from the actual installation of the malware infections on the PC. Sometimes Trojan.JS.Agent.ELA can illustrate a "404 not found" blank page or other messages that would reroute the computer user toward genuine clean websites. Then, Trojan.JS.Agent.ELA will load a web page chosen according to the data of the search executed by the script on the computer user's machine. This will be either a malicious video, if a flash player version is vulnerable, a malicious program if it found a vulnerable Java version, or a malicious PDF file if the Adobe Reader version has been downloaded from the insecure website. Agent.ELA cleans the memory it needed to install other malware threats, and also evades detection by security programs. These exploits will allow Trojan.JS.Agent.ELA to connect the infected web browser to fake websites where it downloads further malware infections such as Zeus Trojan. Uninstall Trojan.JS.Agent.ELA as quickly as possible.
