The Switch2Search program is offered to users that like to spice up the new tab page of their browser, as well as add features to their favorite search engine. The Switch2Search program can be found at Switch2search.com, and it is a freeware. The Switch2Search software works similarly to FirstSearchBar and may need to close other apps to install itself correctly. You may find Switch2Search bundled with programs like FreeDealsApp and GameTrekkers. According to Switch2search.com, the Switch2Search browser extension is specialized in providing search results from social media like Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and Twitter. You could use Switch2Search in the same way you use Google and Yahoo. However, you need to know that the Switch2Search software is ad-supported. The Switch2Search extension may show promotional materials from sponsors and welcome users to buy items from partners.

The Switch2Search application is deemed as a Potentially Unwanted Program (PUP) because you cannot opt out of its ads and may experience browser redirects to suspicious pages quite often. Additionally, the Switch2Search extension will change your default search engine to Search.switch2search.com, which is a customized version of Bing that includes background images and weather reports on the main page. Installing Switch2Search may lead to poor browser performance and marketers may have access to your bookmarks collection and Internet history. The Switch2Search extension may not be welcomed by users that watch videos on YouTube most of the time they spent on the Web because Switch2Search may inject many video commercials. If you are not pleased with the activity of the Switch2Search extension, you should use a credible anti-spyware to remove all of its data safely.
