EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecard
EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecards are assessment reports for different malware threats which have been collected and analyzed by our research team. EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecards evaluate and rank threats using several metrics including real-world and potential risk factors, trends, frequency, prevalence, and persistence. EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecards are updated regularly based on our research data and metrics and are useful for a wide range of computer users, from end users seeking solutions to remove malware from their systems to security experts analyzing threats.
EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecards display a variety of useful information, including:
Ranking: The ranking of a particular threat in EnigmaSoft’s Threat Database.
Severity Level: The determined severity level of an object, represented numerically, based on our risk modeling process and research, as explained in our Threat Assessment Criteria.

Although Startpins.com is marketed as a website that allows computer users to find, share, and organize their favorite websites, Startpins.com is actually a low-quality website that has been linked to the Google Redirect Virus and other browser hijackers. Despite Startpins.com's tag line: 'Your social home page' and the fact that Startpins.com claims to 'Find, organize and share the websites and images you like', most computer users find that Startpins.com quickly becomes an annoyance due to the constant browser redirects that force computer users to visit Startpins.com repeatedly. If your web browser is forcing you to return to the Startpins.com web page constantly against your will, then it is possible that your machine has become infected with a browser hijacker. While Startpins.com itself does not pose much of a danger to most computers, browser hijackers that force computer users to visit Startpins.com repeatedly are often associated with some of the nastiest, most difficult malware infections known today (such as the TDSS and ZeroAccess rootkits). Because of this, stopping Startpins.com redirects may require a specialized rootkit removal solution.
Like most legitimate websites, Startpins.com also generates revenue through advertising and affiliate links (sponsored links that generate revenue each time they are clicked on). However, while most websites attract computer users by offering attractive or useful content or helpful services, the criminals associated with Startpins.com simply force computer users to visit their website repeatedly. This inflates their web traffic numbers, which means a higher amount of advertisements impressions, clicks on sponsored links and other revenue-generating activities. If you are been forced to visit Startpins.com repeatedly by your web browser, take action to remove any browser hijackers in your hard drive immediately.
The Google Redirect Virus and Other Browser Hijackers Associated with Startpins.com
The most common browser hijacker associated with Startpins.com is commonly known as the Google Redirect Virus. Startpins.com redirects may also be caused by malicious toolbar or web browser add-ons. These will usually not be specific to your web browser and will actually make changes to the Windows Registry and to your computer's settings. Because of this, removing malware associated with Startpins.com will usually require the help of a reliable, fully-updated anti-malware program with anti-rootkit capabilities (in the case of infections involving the Google Redirect Virus).
