Spicaladapt.com utilizes various deceptive and misleading messages to get its visitors to subscribe to its push notifications unknowingly. This particular behavior belongs to a popular browser-based tactic, and countless other sites besides Spicaladapt.com have been created to propagate it. In fact, each day, more and more of these dubious pages are emerging on the Internet.
Spicaladapt.com uses several clickbait messages designed to lure visitors into clicking the 'Allow' button. First, it tries to convince users that they need to pass a CAPTCHA check and prove that they are not robots by pressing the button. However, at the same time, the site may claim that clicking 'Allow' is the only way to close the page.
The fraudsters' goal is to abuse the browser permissions associated with the push notification service features to deliver unwanted advertisements to the affected users and earn money in the process. Users will be subjected to various intrusive and annoying advertisements that could appear while browsing or being shown on the device's screen as notifications. Typically, these advertisements are used to lead the user to unsafe or suspicious third-party websites or show offers for questionable software products that more often than not turn out to be various PUPs (Potentially Unwanted Programs).
