EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecard
EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecards are assessment reports for different malware threats which have been collected and analyzed by our research team. EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecards evaluate and rank threats using several metrics including real-world and potential risk factors, trends, frequency, prevalence, and persistence. EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecards are updated regularly based on our research data and metrics and are useful for a wide range of computer users, from end users seeking solutions to remove malware from their systems to security experts analyzing threats.
EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecards display a variety of useful information, including:
Ranking: The ranking of a particular threat in EnigmaSoft’s Threat Database.
Severity Level: The determined severity level of an object, represented numerically, based on our risk modeling process and research, as explained in our Threat Assessment Criteria.

Security researchers have received reports of unwanted behaviors associated with SolteraTop, a Potentially Unwanted Program that is typically marketed as a plug-in for Web browsers on the Windows operating system. Malware analysts have noted that SolteraTop has all the characteristics of browser hijackers and adware, despite the fact that marketers promote SolteraTop as a useful tool for gaining access to certain online deals and discounts. There are several problems that may be related to SolteraTop:
- SolteraTop may take over the victim's Web browser, forcing it to visit websites associated with SolteraTop repeatedly. SolteraTop redirects may occur repeatedly and at random moments. This symptom may disrupt computer users' activities on the affected Web browser.
- SolteraTop delivers a constant stream of irritating advertisements to the affected Web browser, including pop-up advertisements, sponsored in-text links and a variety of banners, sliding advertisements and other marketing material.
- SolteraTop may compromise your privacy by keeping track of your online activity and sending information about your computer to an outsider that may use it in marketing research or to deliver additional advertisements to your computer.
- SolteraTop may make unwanted changes to your Web browser settings, changing its homepage and default search engine. This ensures that computer users are exposed to content associated with SolteraTop as soon as they run the affected Web browser.

Abolishing SolteraTop Advertisements and Redirects
The main purpose of the various symptoms of SolteraTop listed above is to profit from advertising and marketing techniques. Do not let marketers profit at your expense! Remove SolteraTop at once from your computer. In most cases, the removal of SolteraTop should be done with the cooperation of a reliable security application. Although it is usually possible to uninstall SolteraTop using regular removal methods, SolteraTop advertisements and redirects may expose your computer to potentially unsafe online content. It is because of this that security researchers advise the use of a reliable security application to scan the affected computer after SolteraTop has been removed. Since SolteraTop may make unwanted changes to your Web browser settings, such as altering its homepage and default search engine, it may be necessary to undo these changes manually after SolteraTop has been removed.
