SelectionToolkit is a Potentially Unwanted Program that has been observed to cause various problems on affected computers. Despite the marketing hype, the main purpose of SelectionToolkit is to expose PC users to numerous advertisements and sponsored content on their Web browser. PUPs like SelectionToolkit are regarded as unsafe, but not as destructive or difficult to remove as other threats. However, this does not mean that SelectionToolkit is not extremely disruptive, and many of its symptoms may be just is irritating as those caused by more serious forms of threats. Security researchers have observed that SelectionToolkit is usually distributed by bundling SelectionToolkit with freeware applications.
