EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecard
EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecards are assessment reports for different malware threats which have been collected and analyzed by our research team. EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecards evaluate and rank threats using several metrics including real-world and potential risk factors, trends, frequency, prevalence, and persistence. EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecards are updated regularly based on our research data and metrics and are useful for a wide range of computer users, from end users seeking solutions to remove malware from their systems to security experts analyzing threats.
EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecards display a variety of useful information, including:
Ranking: The ranking of a particular threat in EnigmaSoft’s Threat Database.
Severity Level: The determined severity level of an object, represented numerically, based on our risk modeling process and research, as explained in our Threat Assessment Criteria.
Infected Computers: The number of confirmed and suspected cases of a particular threat detected on infected computers as reported by SpyHunter.

Some users may suddenly notice that their browsers have started to redirect to an unfamiliar address at Searchpoweronline.com. Such behavior is often a consequence of having a browser hijacker present on the computers. These intrusive PUPs (Potentially Unwanted Programs) are heavily reliant on questionable tactics such as software bundles and fake installers for their distribution. As a result, many users do not realize that they have agreed to have such applications installed on their systems.
However, once fully deployed, the browser hijacker will establish control over the installed browsers and start modifying several important settings. Most commonly, the homepage, new tab page, and the default search engine will be substituted with a promoted address, such as searchpoweronline.com. Subsequently, every time the affected browser is launched, a new tab is started, or users attempt to initiate a search via the URL bar, a redirect to the promoted page will be triggered.
It is important to keep in mind that browser hijackers may possess other intrusive capabilities as well. They may be collecting vast amounts of data and silently transmitting it to their operators. While some PUPs limit themselves to only targeting browsing-related information, this is not always the case. Even sensitive and confidential information such as the browser's autofill data, which typically includes account credentials, banking details, credit/debit card numbers, etc., could become exposed and exfiltrated.
