Searchgoose is a browser hijacker that is associated with the "Searchgoose.com" website and known for being a generic variation of a search engine that may utilize a gateway through other well-known search engine sites. The Searchgoose web page may be confusing as it will render search results that are accompanied by advertisements, which is believed to be part of a pay-per-click or pay-per-view scheme to get the creators of Searchgoose paid.

Computer users should know that Searchgoose isn’t necessarily malware, but it has a mischievous agenda and should have its associated components removed. Such components are usually in the form of web browser extensions that should be found and deleted by savvy computer users. In other cases, computer users may utilize an antimalware resource to automatically detect and remove the Searchgoose components.

If a computer user allows the components of Searchgoose to reside on their system, then they could be at risk of having Internet settings modified without their permission thus causing alternative pages to load as a default home page or new tab page. Moreover, Searchgoose could track certain Internet paths or actions and then leverage such data to display associated advertisements or sites.
